Sightsavers boosts its transparency by publishing its policy positions

#OpenOrganisations

What makes this practice exemplary?

Sightsavers publishes its policy positions on its website and intranet. In the UK, policy positions are disseminated to key targets in Westminster and Whitehall. They are used as a basis for additional briefings (for example to brief Members of Parliament or Peers in advance of relevant Parliamentary debates).

At international level, policy and advocacy materials are disseminated to a range of other critical advocacy targets including, but not restricted to, governments in the countries where they work, UN agencies, bi-lateral and multilateral agencies, the World Health Organisation, other Non-Governmental Organisations and Disabled People’s Organisations.

A Decade of Impact, a Moment to Renew

45,000+ organizations operating in 180+ countries are using the Global Standard to guide their work and put people at the heart of their accountability measures. Now, the 10 cohosts are working to review and refresh the Standard to ensure its fit for the future too. If you work in or with civil society, and believe our accountability practice should center the people we work for and with, we want to hear from you.
