Values and policies
Our values are embedded in Accountable Now’s policies, that guide the direction and actions of all of those who work and with Accountable Now. Below we publish all of our policies which our staff have to sign and follow.
Accountable Now advocates a zero tolerance approach towards fraud and unethical activities. Like for any other organisation, fraud is an ever-present threat to the resources and reputation of Accountable Now and we address it in our Anti-Corruption Policy.
Code of Conduct
This Code of Conduct outlines values and standards we expect staff and other people associated with Accountable now to uphold, improving the working environment, protecting staff and other stakeholders from exploitation or other types of abuse.
Conflict of Interest
This Conflict of Interest policy applies to every person associated with Accountable Now and ensures that the interests of Accountable Now are placed above direct or indirect financial interests.
Disciplinary Policy & Procedure
In carrying out any disciplinary process, Accountable Now is committed to the principles of objectivity and confidentiality and ensures no repercussions for those involved as defined in our Disciplinary Policy and Procedure.
Accountable Now recognises that its day-to-day operations impact the environment in a number of ways. We are therefore committed to minimise the potentially harmful effects of its activities wherever and whenever possible according to the regulations in our Environmental Policy. In 2019 we revised our policy to go further and promote stronger sustainable principles in our organisation and in the work we do with our Members.
Feedback & Complaints (Accountable Now)
Accountable Now strives to operate in line with the 12 Accountability Commitments it promotes, our Code of Conduct, and values. If there are any concerns relating to the actions of Accountable Now or its staff, we offer a mechanism to address these concerns.
Feedback & Complaints (Members)
Our members endorse our 12 Accountability Commitments when they join us, and report to us annually on how they are implementing and upholding these commitments. This policy outlines how Accountable Now handles feedback and complaints about its member organisations.
Financial Management Framework
The purpose of this financial management framework is to describe and document how Accountable Now wants its financial activities to be carried out. Through this policy, Accountable Now seeks to carry out the organisation’s tasks in the most effective and efficient manner, while remaining accountable to its members, partners, donors and the community in general.
Human Resources Policy
Intangible Assets Policy
The purpose of this policy and procedure is to guide capitalisation and amortisation of intangible assets transactions of Accountable Now. This policy and procedure apply to relevant transactions of Accountable Now.
Open Information Policy
We commit to be open and objective in assessing our own work and in our dealings with all of our stakeholders. Accountable Now has a firm commitment to relevant, timely and pro-active transparency captured in our Open Information Policy.
In order to use our resources accountably and make sure that funds are spent for the purpose that they were given, Accountable Now has put in place a Procurement Policy.
Operational reserves are held to ensure that Accountable Now operates effectively and is financially sustainable. They act as a safety margin and allow for flexibility in managing Accountable Now’s resources. The calculation of the required level of reserves is an integral part of the organisation’s planning, budget and forecast cycle.
This policy seeks to reduce risk to children and adults in vulnerable situations, involved directly or indirectly in Accountable Now’s work.
Travel Policy for Board Trustees
This policy sets out the rules for Accountable Now's Board Trustees when attending Board meetings, the AGM, travelling to prospect Accountable Now Members, potential donors or other meetings of significant importance to developing Accountable Now.
We acknowledge that all organisations face the risk of unknowingly harbouring malpractice. On this basis, staff are encouraged to raise genuine concerns about malpractice in the workplace without fear of reprisals. In this regard, Accountable Now will protect them from victimisation and dismissal when concerns are raised in good faith following this policy.
