With about 40 years of development experience, Muhammad Taher has mainly been an institutional development specialist working with different national and international organisations. He has recently been engaged in an ADB-GoB (Government of Bangladesh) sponsored project as Governance specialist that helps developing organizational capacity of remote coastal Municipalities of Bangladesh. Currently, the Chair of the Steering Committee of the South Asian disaster management network, Duryog Nivaran (https://duryognivaran.org/), Taher was the Country Director of the UK based charity, Intermediate Technology Development Group, Bangladesh (ITDG 1990-97). As a social development and management consultant, Taher conducted several research and evaluations on different development interventions and themes. He has also worked as a member of an independent review panel for a large economic empowerment project (Shiree) jointly launched by the UK-Aid and GoB.
