Complex humanitarian emergencies remain among the most underfunded crises in philanthropy, with giving declining to 10.1% of total disaster funding in 2023. The Center for Disaster Philanthropy and Accountable Now researched what motivates and what hinders philanthropic engagement in these contexts. This webinar shares highlights from the resulting report, with panelists from the Gates Foundation and Irene M. Staehelin Foundation discussing how funders can more effectively support communities affected by complex crises.
