For over 15 years, we have been dedicated to shifting power, promoting equity, and embedding dynamic accountability into everyday practices. We work closely with civil society organisations to help them reflect, learn, and adapt—encouraging new, inclusive, and participatory ways of working that meaningfully engage all stakeholders.
Our approach moves beyond traditional monitoring, evaluation, and compliance, instead treating accountability as an ongoing process centered on the voices, feedback, and priorities of communities. Today, our global network of members and partners spans more than 150 countries, united in the effort to transform how accountability is understood and practiced.
Our founding members are 11 of the largest internationally-operating civil society organisations working across international development, environmental, human rights and advocacy issues, and many remain as active members of our community today.

Behind Accountable Now is a team of accountability experts and practitioners from different sectors and geographies, united by a shared commitment to promoting justice, equality, and accountability.
The Global Standard for CSO Accountability is recognised as a benchmark and tool for fortifying civic space, bolstering the freedom of association, and fostering locally-driven initiatives. Accountable Now and 8 other accountability networks from Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, Latin America, and the Caribbean worked together for 2 years to develop the standard.
Accountability Lab is a global translocal network that makes governance work for people by supporting active citizens, responsible leaders, and accountable institutions. Their goal is a world in which resources are used wisely, decisions benefit everyone fairly, and people lead secure lives.
