Bao Han Tran Le joined Accountable Now in September 2019 as Programme Officer of the Global Standard for CSO Accountability. Bao Han has a background in International Relations, with a Bachelor’s Degree from the London School of Economics and a Master’s in International Relations from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), London. Prior to joining Accountable Now, Bao Han worked for Youth United Foundation in London where she coordinated a network of 11 most prominent British youth charities. She also has experience interning with the AMAR Charitable Foundation and Macmillan Cancer Support UK. She is passionate about the civil society space and equal opportunities. Bao Han is based in Berlin and uses she/her pronouns.

Mary brings expertise in CSO operations and performance, including digital technology tools, values-based policy and template development, and communication tools and strategies. In her role as Accountable Now’s Head of Communications and Operations, she oversees all aspects of the organisation’s communications and operations work. Mary has a dual masters degree in Urban Design from Brandenburg Technical University and Cairo University and a BA in Urban Planning from Concordia University. Mary is based in Berlin and uses she/her pronouns.

Megan is a recognised expert and thought leader in strategy, impact measurement and management, learning, and organisational resilience for complex, dynamic social change efforts. She joins the Accountable Now team after previously serving on Accountable Now's Board and has previously held roles as Director for Strategy & Impact of the Open Society Foundation (OSF) and as Global Director for MEL at The Hunger Project.

Impact and Strategy Fellow

Hometown: Ciwidey, Indonesia
Yanti Silviana is an MPA in Development Practice candidate, specializing in Leadership, Innovation, and Design, from Columbia University. She joins Accountable Now as a Strategy Fellow, following her work for the USAID corruption prevention project in Indonesia, where she collaborated with government entities, CSOs, and local communities to enhance community of accountability and public service delivery. Yanti also contributed to the New Zealand Aid Program in Indonesia, focusing on the human development sector, and managing special fund for CSOs to address sustainable development issues. Yanti is the founder of Plastic Fused a project that empowers women trash pickers to upcycle plastic waste into commercial bags, benefiting both the environment and the community. Her advocacy extends beyond her projects; she is a frequent speaker on the subjects of youth entrepreneurship and the circular economy. She brings expertise in social entrepreneurship, social impact, innovation, public sector management, and accountability. Originally from Indonesia, she has lived and worked in the US and Canada, gaining extensive fieldwork experience across Indonesia, United States, Southeast Asia, New Zealand, Mongolia, and Portugal. Based in New York City, Yanti is dedicated to leveraging her skills and experiences to create a more sustainable, transparent, and equitable world. She is excited to contribute to Accountable Now’s mission of supporting global civil society organizations in advancing transparent, impact-focused, and community-led programming. She uses she/her/hers pronouns.

Jay joined Accountable Now as an intern to explore their interest in working in the civil society sector, while completing their BA in Politics at the University of Portsmouth. Outside of work and studies, Jay enjoys reading and playing volleyball.

Our Board of Trustees

Accountable Now’s Board of Trustees is composed of strategic thinkers and passionate change-makers from across the sector and around the world. Approximately 50% of the Trustees represent our member organisations, while the other Board Members serve as Independent Trustees.

He brings over 20 years of experience to the table with having worked in multiple roles for Counterpart International, in the United States and Armenia.

Dr. Babacar Ndong has been the Country Director at Educo for almost 3 years. He has over 18 years of experience working in development programs, both with national and international NGOs, with a focus on the fields of education, gender, children’s rights protection, and community development.

Jean Scrimgeour is the co-CEO, chief Operations and Innovation Officer at Accountability Lab. The Accountability Lab makes governance work for people everywhere by supporting active citizens, responsible leaders and accountable institutions. Prior to joining the Lab, Jean worked as a public affairs and democratic governance specialist in the United States, the United Kingdom and Southern Africa for Rotary, the UK Foreign Office, the Westminster Foundation and Voluntary Services Overseas.

Mary Brezovich

Head of Federation Communications, SOS Children’s Villages International
Based in: Vienna, Austria
Mary is Head of Federation Communications at SOS Children’s Villages International, the world’s largest NGO focused on supporting children without parental care or at risk of losing it. Among other roles, she is chief editor of the organization’s International Annual Report. She uses storytelling and data to bring complex child rights topics alive for the layperson. Her experience in governance and accountability topics began several years ago as a member of the Statutes Working Group, a project to support the SOS Children’s Villages federation in updating its statutes. She firmly believes in the concept of dynamic accountability and that embedding it in practices can help civil society organizations to achieve their vision. She is very excited to join the board of Accountable Now.

Rachel co-founded GlobalGiving UK and leads the organisation to make a genuine and sustained difference in people’s lives. She started GlobalGiving in the UK because of her belief that the development aid sector needs radical change: change that puts people’s dignity and dreams first. She believes that accountability is about building trusted partnerships between people and ensuring enabling conditions and structures are built and designed with dynamic accountability at the heart.

Tamryn-Lee Fourie is a seasoned strategy and institutional strengthening professional. In 2018 she joined CIVICUS as the Impact and Accountability Lead, where she has been driving CIVICUS’ strategy, planning and monitoring & evaluation agenda for the last five years. Tamryn-Lee holds a Masters (MSc) in Operational Research with a thesis inspired by the organisational challenges facing traditional INGO structures and utilised systems dynamics theory and modelling to simulate resourcing allocation flows to improve the effectiveness and accountability of their management decision mechanisms.

Vanessa Goas is the Chief Operating Officer at Development Gateway. Vanessa has over 15 years of experience in implementing digital systems and supporting data management, uptake, and usage with governments in Asia, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe – with a focus on public financial management and transparency. Vanessa received an MA in International Affairs from The George Washington University, and holds a BA in International Relations from the University of Miami.

The Independent Review Panel (IRP) is an internationally-recognised team of experts with backgrounds in development, human rights, business, and academia that ensure the credibility and integrity of the reporting process.

Brendan Halloran has 15 years of strategy, research, learning and leadership experience on governance and accountability programming from grassroots local action to global initiatives.  Dr. Halloran has held organisational leadership positions in a leading INGO working on fiscal governance (IBP) and the secretariat for a donor collaborative on public governance (TAI), as well as advisory roles in the Open Government Partnership and at American University.

Jeremy Sandbrook is the CEO of Integritas360, a global corporate social enterprise committed to advancing integrity and raising ethical practices in global development. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiner’s and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. Jeremy previously held a number of senior leadership positions within SOS Children’s Villages, and has worked for PWC and Qantas Airways.

Simon Lawry-White is founder and director of Vine Management Consulting which has provided performance consulting services governments, UN agencies, Red Cross, and INGOs since 1996. He has worked for UNICEF, Oxfam and the UK aid programme in Africa, and led the secretariat of the Inter-Agency Standing Committee.
