We are looking for contributors for the next South Asia Disasters.net journal!
The All India Disaster Mitigation Institute (AIDMI) is a registered public charitable trust based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. It is a community-based action planning, action research and policy support organisation, working towards bridging the gap between policy, practice and research related to disaster mitigation and climate change adaptation. Its associated online publication, SouthAsiaDisasters.net (SADN), aims to capture and consolidate information, knowledge and research on Disaster Risk Reduction in Asia and currently reaches over 20,000 individuals and institutions in South Asia.
For the next SADN issue Accountable Now will work with AIDMI to coordinate the delivery of contributions. Although SADN contributors have generally been organisations based in India writing on DRR, the journal is not limited in geographical scope or topical focus and we are looking forward to reaching out to individuals and organisations from across the world to write on their experiences with accountability practices in a variety of contexts.
Proposed topic of the next issue:
The proposed topic for the next issue of SADN will take a broad perspective on disaster risk reduction and we ask contributors to write on their experiences with accountability practices that engage a variety of stakeholders as a means to increase CSO resilience or prevent disasters (both natural and human). The scope will range from the community level through to the international level, using case studies, examples of projects and analysis of policy to demonstrate the importance and relevance of accountability practices as a means to build resilience and/or manage disasters.
Individuals from the Accountable Now network, including member organisations, contacts at other CSOs and accountability initiatives and Global Standard partners will be contacted first to gauge interest and availability for contributing to the issue.
